Kinda sucks that Yuno is actually royalty, cause now he cant represent peasants nor show that a peasant can have as much (or even more) power than royalty… it kinda ruined it for me, cause it was like Asta proving a peasant without magic could be as strong as royalty and Yuno a peasan with magic can be as strong as royalty too… now all the fuss about him at the beginning (being the only peasant in the golden club, being stronger than a royal vice captain, etc) was pointless

I think that Yuno climbing the ranks in his squad is still proving that peasants with magic can go a long way. Yuno wasn't aware he was royalty and didn't receive any benefits that go along with that (e.g. the wealth, prestige, automatic entry into any squad of his choosing, preferential treatment, etc). He had to work hard to get where he got, even with his magic because he thought he was a peasant and an orphan on top of that. Even if he may have had a greater amount of mana, that would have been for nothing if he didn't train as hard as he did. All his hard work and achievements when he was a peasant isn't negated just because he turned out to be royalty

He actually did receive one of the most important benefits, which is a big amount of mana from birth for being from royalty, something that peasants dont have for some reason. So pretty much all the “awesome” magical things he did was because we was born from royals, so it made it a lot less impressive than a peasant that did it from scratch and didnt have that much mana from birth, he was kinda even bonded to have a four leaves book because he was a prince. It took away all the point, and he didnt really have to work that hard since he already had all the mana that a royalty has from birth and the four leaf book bonded. There is a reason why royalty is always “powerful” even some of them dont even seem to train, and thats even with nobles, imagine when we talk about a prince lol so yeah, it kinda does negate his work and achievements

Yeah I agree with you. It doesn't take away from the fact that he understands the life of a peasant, but compared to people like Asta or other peasants that have little to no magic, he's OP. He's like Noelle. Despite being put in the worst squad and being unable to control her magic, she still has a lot of mana because of her being royalty. Yuno being OP constantly when next to Asta and his achievements would definitely not have been possible if he was like a regular peasant like Asta or even Magna. He even has a wind spirit, and now he's a prince at all. It lowkey pisses me off how much this guy is goated lol and the most they give Asta is three swords and muscles.

Also, we kind of already knew he has lots of mana, didn't we? Now it's clear why, but the advantage of having loads of mana was always there. What makes him impressive is that he figured out how to use it to its full potential. He might well be at about the same mana level as the other royals, but became stronger than them because he also had to work for things.

Yuno didn't work for anything. He is loved by mana and the reincarnation of an elf. He was going to get powerful whether he did anything or not.

Nah, I strongly suspect he did work his ass off competing with Asta, but he's the type to not talk about it. We saw some glimpses of it at the beginning, but since he's not the mc we see disproportionately little of his training compared to Asta.

It now kinda shows that he is as good as everyone could expect and nothing exceptional since he was already a royal so his powers were justified and predictable…

So I guess the only real peasant here is Asta. I've gotta say, I think I'm getting sick of the author's favoritism towards Yuno. I mean let's see, he's got a 4 leaf grimoire just like the first wizard king, he was chosen by a powerful wind spirit, he's the reincarnation of Licht and Tetia's love child, Prince Lumiere Silvamillion Clover's unborn nephew that had he lived would've been the bridge between the elves and humanity bringing peace to their world. And now this? He is a royal prince and the true heir to the spade kingdom, all while having the personality of a wet noodle. Yuno is loved by mana and doesn't even work for it. He didn't even train under the spirits in the heart kingdom but watch all the new ways the author will make him OP for no reason.

Meanwhile, what did the author do for Asta? He worked his ass off from nothing. Gave the poor guy no mana whatsoever, had him swinging a bunch of swords around, refuses to allow him to grow past 5 feet, and despite these handicaps saves his country anyway and gets no credit, nor a single star to show for it and in fact is made out to be such a villain in his own home that he has to go save another country just so that he's not hung by his own people. Oh and apparently Asta's possessed by some devil, the devil of his grimoire, that is biding his time and waiting for the perfect opportunity to claim Asta's body for himself.

I really don't know what the author thinks they are doing but it's just bad writing at this point, to make asta and yuno's abilities and story so disparate and disproportionate. 😮‍💨😒🤨
